Everyone here at MooreMuscle has basically grown up in a gym and we have pretty much seen it all. After watching countless gym goers, here are your Gym Etiquette Rules to Live By:
- Re-rack your weights. Why is it someone else's job to put away your equipment?
- Be courteous regarding others waiting on the equipment. While gym equipment is first come, first served, be mindful of people waiting on the equipment that you are currently using. Offer to let them work in with you or at least make sure you don't waste time.
- If you're at the gym to be social, be courteous of those who don't want to be social. Not everyone wants to be your best friend.
- Wipe your equipment down. Most gyms have wipes to use on the equipment when you're finished with it. No one, not even your own spouse wants to workout in your sweat and stink. You're nasty so clean up after yourself.
- Don't drop your weights. If you have to drop the weights you are using, they are too heavy for you to use. Once you own your own gym and have bought all the equipment, feel free to drop and break stuff all you wish.
- Do not give unsolicited advice. If someone asks you for your advice, feel free to give it, otherwise shut up. If they wanted your advice, they would have asked for it.
- Don't stare. Yoga pants were not invented for you to learn where the girl on the squat rack buys her underwear.
- Be supportive. Everyone is there to make improvements. Don't walk around with a scowl on your face because you think you're somehow better than someone else. Confident people are supportive and kind, losers are rude and judgmental.
